80 years of Christian Aid – Largo and Inverurie mark the contribution of Rev Douglas Lister.

As an army chaplain, Rev Lister saw first-hand how the German people and the refugees in Europe were living at the end of WWII. When help was not forth-coming from the government, he wrote and asked the Scottish churches if they would offer support.

War-weary people living on rations gave generously to support their fellow humans and so Christian Aid was born. Rev Lister was minister in both Largo and Inverurie and this year we will have services to mark the 80th and the special connection they have. All are welcome.

  • Sunday 11 May 7pm, Largo Parish Church. Rt Rev Russell Barr, Rt Rev Sally Foster-Fulton and Christian Aid Global thematic advisor for health and Gender, Temwa Kasakula will lead the service.
  • Tuesday 13 May 7pm, Inverurie St Andrew’s Parish Church. Rev Carl Irvine, Charlie Meiklejohn and Christian Aid Global thematic advisor for health and Gender, Temwa Kasakula will lead the service.
